Mangano & Dale Release Enhanced COP Plan For Nassau County
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Police Commissioner Thomas Dale today announced their intention to submit to the County Legislature a COmmunity Policing (COP) Plan that reassigns 48 police officers from desk jobs to Problem Oriented Police (POP) positions and transforms four current precincts into new Community Policing Centers to be located throughout the County. The plan eliminates over 100 desk jobs and slashes costly built-in overtime benefits while modernizing Nassau’s 1970’s eight precinct-building plan to account for the last 40 years of technology enhancements that have reduced administrative workload throughout the department. The COP plan corrects imbalances in current workload, as three police precincts presently perform twice the workload of the remaining five precincts.

Mangano Unveils The New "Nassau Now" Mobile And Web Application
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the launch of “Nassau Now,” the County’s newest state-of-the-art mobile and web application designed to assist residents in communicating more efficiently and effectively with County government. “Nassau Now” is an online and real-time application, which provides a free and simple way for residents to use a smartphone or tablet to contact Nassau County directly. Nassau County: A Year In Review
Over the past 12 months, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has worked tirelessly to protect residents from a tax hike by standing up to the special interests, reining in wasteful spending and creating private sector jobs. The County Executive has also worked to improve services for veterans, seniors and children - all while holding the line on property taxes and reducing spending.

Mangano Announces Agreement To Allow MTA And Nassau CountyTo Allow MetroCard Use On NICE Bus
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has announced that the County and the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) have reached an agreement to allow usage of the MetroCard for riders who are transferring between Nassau Inter-County Express buses and MTA buses, or between a NICE bus and the subway.
