Bay Park Golf Course Goes to Daily Schedule
The Bay Park nine-hole golf course switched to a seven-day-per-week schedule beginning May 26, announced Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. During spring, the golf course was closed one day a week, on Wednesdays.
Located by the water in East Rockaway, the Bay Park nine-hole is a beautifully conditioned, links-style course that features elevated greens. The course is 1,956 yards and par 30, with the two holes over 300 yards (five, at 352, and nine at 331, both par four). The Bay Park course opens at 6:30 a.m. six days a week and 9 a.m. on Wednesdays; the last tee-off is at 7 p.m. daily.
The County offers three other nine-hole courses at Cantiague Park in Hicksville (516-571-7061); Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills (516-571-8120); and North Woodmere Park (516-571-7814). Cantiague and North Woodmere also have driving ranges.
Each of the courses provides a slightly different playing experience. Cantiague Park’s golf course is centrally located in Hicksville and offers a flat and easy-to-traverse property, with total yardage of 1,878. Christopher Morley, at 1,603 yards, is a small but hilly course surrounded by trees, and the only course located on the North Shore. At 2,282 yards, North Woodmere’s course is the largest of the nine holes, with four holes over 300 yards, two of which approach 400 yards. Like Bay Park, the course is located on the South Shore by the water. All the courses are par-30, with the exception of North Woodmere, which is par-31.
Nine-hole course fees for a Nassau County resident with a Leisure Pass are $8.50 to $15; non-Leisure Pass holders and nonresident fees are $30. Motor cart rentals and caddy cart rentals are available.
