To reserve a space for your picnic you must understand and agree to the following Conditions and Regulations. You can apply by completing the reservation form available for download at the bottom of this page and bring it to the park to process.
ALL PICNIC RESERVATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO THESE CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONS
- Nassau County park picnic areas are for Nassau County residents and their guests.
- All park reservations shall be made in person by an authorized representative of the group, who must be a Nassau County resident with a Leisure Passport. The group must be based in Nassau County and composed of at least seventy-five percent Nassau County residents. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis on or after the first Monday in February. THE CAPACITY OF EACH PICNIC AREA HAS BEEN PREDETERMINED AND MUST BE ADHERED TO AS STATED.
- On the day of the picnic, a representative of the group must be in the picnic area by 9 a.m. Bring your copy of the reservation and permits for verification.
- At beaches, ordinanced parking fees are in effect.
- Unloading of vehicles in the picnic areas is not permitted. Any vehicle which is to remain in the picnic area will require a service vehicle permit.
- Alcohol in the picnic areas is permitted by permit only. Glass bottles are prohibited.
- Grills are provided for cooking. Open ground fires and propane gas are prohibited.
- Bands, stereos, or other types of amplification are prohibited without prior, written approval of the Park Administration.
- All catering of food, DJ services, entertainment and the rental of tents, bouncy castles, moonwalks, inflatable games, ball pools, basic bouncies, fun slides, obstacles, aqua fun, tunnels, promotional bouncies, including, but not limited to similar equipment MUST be done through the authorized and exclusive park concessionaire which is DOVER CATERERS (www.dovercaterers.com). - The sale or vending of any foodstuffs, refreshments, merchandise, etc. is prohibited. Refreshment stands are available in most parks, and the operators of these stands have the exclusive license for the sale of all foodstuffs, refreshments, merchandise, etc. in the park area. Vendors, catering services, etc., are NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE PARKS TO DELIVER AND/OR SELL any foodstuffs, beverages or merchandise to any group or organization.
No other vendors, caterers, restaurants or any other entity is permitted to sell, deliver, load or unload any foodstuffs, beverages or merchandise of any type in this Park.
The sale or vending of any foodstuffs, refreshments, ice cream or any other merchandise is prohibited in this Park. Such items are available at park refreshment stands. Any donated food that has been approved must be picked up by the Permittee. NO DELIVERIES. The violation of any of these provisions may result in the immediate revocation of your Picnic Reservation Permit and the cancellation of your event.
- Pets, pony rides, animals, carnival apparatus or rides, and water balloons are not permitted. ERECTING TENTS IS PROHIBITED.
- Soliciting or collecting contributions, advertising and/or distributing handbills are prohibited.
- It is the responsibility of the group to place all trash in the containers that are provided and to leave their area clean. All picnic areas close officially at sundown.
- INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS IF APPLICABLE: Comprehensive General Liability, showing Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage for the operations of the Organization with limits of One Million dollars ($1,000,000) per occurrence combined limit. Coverage Subject to Change according to the number of people in attendance. IMPORTANT: A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IS TO BE ISSUED TO THE COUNTY OF NASSAU ON AN ACCEPTABLE FORM WHICH SHOWS THAT THE COVERAGE HAS BEEN OBTAINED AND THAT THE COUNTY WILL BE GIVEN TEN (10) DAYS NOTICE OF CANCELLATION.
The following information must be provided on the Certificate of Insurance to be valid and acceptable for the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums:
Insured: The Name of the Insured must be the same as the name on the Permit
NOTE: County as a certificate holder ONLY is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Description of Operations: Nassau County is included as Additional Insured

- Fee must be paid in full when the reservation is made. NO REFUNDS/RAINCHECKS.
