"It is my hope that this memorial will help people to grieve and to make certain that the events of September 11th are always foremost in our thoughts."

Thomas R. Suozzi, County Executive

The Nassau County 9/11 Memorial Foundation is close to completing a September 11th memorial to pay tribute to the over 350 lives lost by Nassau County on that fateful day.

Towards that end, the Nassau County 9/11 Memorial Foundation is continuously fundraising for construction of the memorial.

Through the efforts of many generous individuals, businesses, labor unions, etc., this memorial will finally be complete by September 11, 2006 – this year!

The memorial is alongside the lake in Eisenhower Park was designed by Keith Striga of Valley Stream and Phil Gavosto of Glen Cove.
