Applications for correction of assessments may be filed on forms prescribed by the Assessment Review Commission from the publication of the tentative assessment roll on the first business day of January until the first business day in March. The Assessment Review Commission reviews timely applications for correction of assessments throughout the year from March 1 until a date in March of the following year. Upon completion of its review, the Assessment Review Commission notifies the Department of Assessment of the corrections to be made to the final assessment roll, which is published on the first business day of April. Applications for correction of assessment may be filed by electronic means described on the web page, or by U.S. mail, a private carrier approved for federal and state income tax filings or hand delivery to the offices of the Department of Assessment on the 4th floor at 240 Old Country Road, Mineola, NY 11501.
