(Mineola, NY) Assessor Harvey Levinson today announced that the Board of Assessors has unanimously adopted the 2004-2005 Property Assessment Roll for Nassau County. The final total net assessed value for school purposes for all properties within Nassau County is $1,613,405,542 and represents an overall decrease of ($28,926,440) from the 2003-2004 roll, or approximately –1.76%.
Due to a change in New York State Real Property Tax Law, the Board of Assessors was required to use the same values on the 2004-2005 Assessment Roll that were placed on all properties on the 2003-2004 Assessment Roll. The values placed on the 2004-2005 Assessment Roll did not adjust to increases in the real estate market; rather, they only reflect changes caused by demolitions, property exemptions, and reductions granted by the Assessment Review Commission (ARC).
Assessor Levinson indicated that the 2004-2005 Assessment Roll is available for inspection at the Department of Assessment Offices located at 240 Old Country Road in Mineola, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (Monday through Friday). |
