(Mineola, NY) This Memorial Day, as we gather with our families, friends and neighbors, it is fitting that we remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives on behalf of our great nation.
To the families of those fallen American heroes whose names may be unknown to us, but whose selfless actions live on in our hearts and minds, we offer our most sincere gratitude. It is only because of the sacrifices of our servicemen and women throughout the history of this great country that we can gather and celebrate our holidays as a free people.
As President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed in his Gettysburg Address, “…that these dead shall not have died in vain,” we, too not only honor the memories of our departed countrymen, we also remember our POWs and MIAs, and the millions of Americans who work every day to make our country a better place to live-in.
It is my hope that we will always cherish our freedom and liberties and never forget our heroes and their families.
