ASSESSOR LEVINSON TO HOLD PUBLIC

Board of Assessors Chairman Harvey Levinson will
hold a public forum on assessment issues for homeowners
residing in Wantagh on Thursday, June 15, from 1:30-2:30
p.m. at the Wantagh Public Library located at 3285
Park Avenue.
Assessor
Levinson will discuss his plan to cap all residential
assessment increases by 6% beginning with the 2007-2008
Assessment Roll (the first roll not under the jurisdiction
of the New York State Supreme Court), property tax
exemptions and the STAR program, a proposal to end
the school property tax, and explain how homeowners
can calculate their individual school property tax
obligation for the 2006-2007 tax year.
