(Mineola, NY) The New York State Office of Real
Property Services (ORPS) has awarded $500,000 in State
Aid to Nassau County in recognition of Assessor Harvey
Levinson’s “exemplary efforts” and “acting
as a model of quality assessment practices for municipalities
statewide.”
In
announcing the $500,000, ORPS officials commended Assessor
Levinson for his achievements in maintaining an assessment
system that “meets the highest standards set by
the State.” The grant was computed on $5.00
per parcel for each of Nassau County’s 406,915
qualifying properties and is the maximum allowable under
State guidelines.
“As
the Chairman of the Nassau County Board of Assessors, I
remain committed to work each day to ensure that all homeowners,
businesses and property owners are assessed equitably and
fairly in compliance with New York State Real Property
Tax Law and ORPS guidelines,” concluded Assessor
Levinson. |
