NASSAU COUNTY RECEIVES $500,000 GRANT FROM NEW YORK STATE:
LEVINSON PRAISED FOR LEADERSHIP AND ASSESSMENT POLICIES

(Mineola, NY) For the fifth straight year, the New York State Office of Real Property Services (ORPS) has awarded $500,000 in State Aid to Nassau County in recognition of Assessor Harvey Levinson’s “exemplary efforts” and for establishing policies that serve as a “model for quality assessment practices for municipalities statewide.”

In announcing the $500,000 grant, ORPS officials commended Assessor Levinson for his achievements in maintaining an assessment system that “meets the highest standards set by the State.” The grant was computed on $5.00 per parcel for each of Nassau County’s 408,055 qualifying properties and is the maximum allowable under State guidelines.

“As the Chairman of the Nassau County Board of Assessors, I pledge that I will continue to work each day to improve the assessment process so that all homeowners, businesses and property owners are assessed equitably and fairly in compliance with New York State Real Property Tax Law and ORPS guidelines,” concluded Assessor Levinson.
