County Clerk Attends Red Mass Ceremony
(Mineola, NY) Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell recently attended the Annual Red Mass ceremony celebrated by the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Nassau County. The Red Mass is given by the Catholic Church for judges, attorneys, law school professors, students and government officials to request guidance from the Holy Spirit for all those who seek justice. The Red Mass was first celebrated in the 13th century and has been held in Nassau County since 1958. This year’s distinguished honorees were Rev. Msgr. James F. Pereda, J.C.D., Judicial Vicar, Diocese of Rockville Centre and Pastor at St. Paul the Apostle Church and Honorable Anthony F. Marano, Justice of the Supreme Court of New York State.
