Dear Business Owner:
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in the “Nassau Veterans Discount Program," a County Clerk initiative promoting discounts available through local businesses to veterans of the United States Armed Forces. This program will allow businesses to show their appreciation to veterans for their service to our Great Nation. It is estimated that nearly 80,000 veterans currently reside in Nassau County. Through this program, local businesses can contribute to ongoing efforts to assist veterans.
Eligibility is dependent upon the veteran recording (free of charge) their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD-214) at the County Clerk’s Office at which time they will receive a certification card. At the time of filing their papers, veterans will receive a listing of participating businesses, their location and discount offering. Presentation of this card at participating businesses will allow a veteran to receive the specified discount. The type or extent of savings offered is entirely at the discretion of the individual business.
This program will not only be able to welcome home returning veterans and aid veterans financially, but will also promote local business and the community. Interested businesses can complete the enclosed form to register in the program or call the County Clerk’s office at (516) 571-2660 for additional information.
