STATEMENT BY COMPTROLLER HOWARD S. WEITZMAN
RE: COUNTY’S ARBITRATION AWARD WITH THE PBA

“I am especially pleased that the award appears to eliminate the highly wasteful practice of providing duplicate family health insurance policies for officers married to other county employees, an objective for which this office has fought long and hard.  If labor agreements with the county’s other unions follow suit – and I hope they will – county taxpayers will save more than $4 million per year.”
