Comptroller Weitzman Names Jonathan Gailing New County Director of Payroll and Health Benefits
Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman has appointed Jonathan Gailing of Floral Park to head the County’s Payroll and Health Benefits unit. Gailing, an accomplished forensic accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, has an extensive background in financial and operational auditing, financial investigations, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

"I am pleased to welcome Jonathan to our team,” Comptroller Weitzman said. “His years of experience will help us continue to provide exceptional payroll and health benefits service to current and retired County employees.”
Prior to joining the County, Gailing amassed more than 20 years of business and public accounting experience in the international business community. His professional experience spans the management of complex financial investigations in a variety of industries. Gailing has also served as compliance lead for financial operations at New York University and Director of Internal Audit at St. John’s University. During his tenure in public accounting, Gailing worked at Deloitte & Touche as a senior manager in their Dispute Consulting Services practice, and KPMG as a manager in their Forensic & Investigative Services practice. Gailing began his accounting career with Coopers & Lybrand in their Emerging Business Services practice, where he planned and supervised audit engagements for various middle market clients. He received an MBA in accounting from St. John’s University and a BA in Sociology from Queens College. Gailing lives with his wife, a son and a daughter in Floral Park.
