WEITZMAN: NassauRx Drug Discount Card More Valuable than Ever

‘Over $12 MILLION SAVED BY NASSAU-RX DRUG DISCOUNT CARD USERS.’

START SAVING MONEY RIGHT NOW!

The current economic crisis is forcing everyone to keep a close eye on their spending and Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman wants to remind everyone that, “you never have to pay retail price for prescription drugs again.”

With the NassauRx prescription drug discount card, created by Comptroller Weitzman, everyone gets a discount on prescription drugs by simply presenting the card to their pharmacist. The NassauRx card has saved users over $12 million since its inception in 2004. The card can be accessed by simply going to www.caremark.com/nassaurx and printing as many as you need. Anyone with access to a computer and printer can get one, making it even easier to save money on hundreds of prescription drugs. The card can also be obtained by calling the Comptroller’s office or the toll-free number 1-877-321-2652.

"The NassauRx card is a guarantee that no one has to ever pay retail price for prescription drugs,” Weitzman added. “Today more than ever every dollar counts and the NassauRx card can make the decision of filling your prescription easier.”

The NassauRx program is the largest one of its kind in the nation and is available to all Nassau residents, regardless of age, income, or insured status.  With the card, county residents can save an average of 24 percent on almost all prescription medications, and up to 50 percent on generic drugs, at more than 90 percent of Nassau pharmacies.  The card is free and requires no enrollment forms or fees and is administered by Caremark.
