Maragos appoints Paul Leventhal as New Chairman of

Comptroller’s Audit Advisory Committee

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos today announced the appointment of Paul Leventhal as the new Chairman of the Audit Advisory Committee. Mr. Leventhal is a former member of the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority (NIFA) and replaces Robert Wild. Mr. Leventhal is a Certified Public Accountant, and currently is President of Leventhal & Company, LLP, a private practice of accounting, auditing, taxation and management advisory services.

"“Mr. Wild provided the County with years of outstanding public service and I wish him the best going forward,” Comptroller Maragos said. “I am also proud to say that we are very lucky to have someone like Paul Leventhal accepting to serve as Chairman. Paul has years of experience dealing with the County’s finances and his insight and advice will be invaluable,” Comptroller Maragos said.

Mr. Leventhal received his Master of Science in Accounting from NYU Graduate School of Business and graduated from Ithaca College Magna Cum Laude where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Leventhal is also Vice President of Leventhal Financial Services, Inc., and was Vice Chairman of the Nassau County Community College Board of Trustees Finance Committee. Currently Mr. Leventhal lives in Muttontown with his wife Janice and his two daughters.

"The Audit Advisory Committee is an all volunteer group which was established to advise and assist the Comptroller's office in its internal control and audit responsibilities.” Comptroller Maragos added. “This committee has been an important resource since its creation in 2003 and is made up of business, education and government leaders from Nassau County.”
