Mangano To Host Meeting Of Inventors And Entrepreneurs Club Of Nassau County
Will Feature Guest Speaker Walter Reid, Business Advisor at New York State’s Small Business Development Center
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today the “Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club of Nassau County” will host their second meeting on Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Ceremonial Chambers of the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola.
“Creating an environment where our residents can turn their ideas into action while creating jobs and economic impact is the cornerstone of our economic development program,” said County Executive Mangano. “Nassau County has a proud history of innovation from aviation to defense to molecular biology; Nassau County has always been at the forefront. I am thrilled with the club's success in just one month of creation.”
Building on a successful kick-off meeting which featured 150 Nassau County residents, the Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club’s second meeting will provide members the opportunity to hear from a small business development specialist. Walter Reid, Business Advisor at New York State’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be the Club’s guest speaker. Reid will discuss how to turn ideas into business plans, and how to turn business plans into successful enterprises.
Walter Reidhas been credited with advising over 2,000 businesses since his tenure with the SBDC which resulted in 480 new start-up businesses creating 1,400 jobs and investing over $57,000,000 into the economy.
The Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club of Nassau County will meet on Monday, March 19th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Ceremonial Chambers of the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive and Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.
