PHASE I    September 9, 2002

A Candlelight Ceremony at 8:00 p.m. at the Harry Chapin Lake Side Theater to mark the upcoming anniversary of September 11th and to designate the site for the memorial to be built and unveiled in September 2003.

PHASE II    September 30, 2002 - January 30, 2003

An open design challenge accepting submissions of design proposals for a memorial provided they meet with the committee's required specifications.

PHASE III    January 31, 2003 - March 1, 2003

Committee will review all accepted submissions and select the final design.

PHASE IV    March 1, 2002 - September 1, 2003

The committee together with the selected memorial designer to work with the construction team during the building process.

PHASE V    September 7, 2003

Official unveiling and dedication of the memorial.
