Mineola, N.Y. - Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi, joined by County Legislator Joseph Scannell (D-Rockville Center) announced today that Patricia M. Reilly will become the next director of the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency.
Ms. Reilly has served as a Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Credited with the establishment of the Office of Customer Services, during her tenure she facilitated improvements to customer service for telephone, central office walk-in customers, and executive correspondence. Ms. Reilly has most recently served as Director of State Legislation for the Council of the City of New York.
"We are very proud to have Pat Reilly accept the position of Director of the Traffic and Parking Violations Agency," said the County Executive. "With her experience and expertise I am confident that this once struggling agency will make a full turnaround."
Since taking office in January the County Executive has made it a top priority to fix the beleaguered traffic agency. The ticket backlog has been reduced by 3 weeks with no additional staffing, revenue is up over $200,000 from last year, and the number of trial has increased by 25%. In addition, the County has installed an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), launched an electronic reporting system to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and expanded use of electronic parking tickets.
"I am excited to see that the County Executive has made this agency a top priority and we have made tremendous strides. Patricia Reilly's vast experience can bring us the rest of the way," said Legislator Scannell.
