Mangano To Host May Birthday Celebration For Senior Citizens To Obtain Government Services

Hundreds of Seniors Expected to Attend May Celebration at Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano will host a Senior Citizen Birthday Celebration on Wednesday, May 30th for residents with May birthdays that are ages 65 and older. The event, sponsored by JJT Energy & Elder Law Attorney Stephen J. Silverberg, will provide senior citizens with access to government services provided by the Nassau County Offices of Aging, Consumer Affairs, Assessment, Health and Human Services, Housing, Social Services and Veterans Services. JJT Energy representatives will also be available to offer cost saving tips on energy bills. Elder Law Attorney Stephen J. Silverberg will also be available to offer services. The celebration will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Fairground Building, located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage.

“It is with great pleasure that I continue with this program to connect senior citizens with government representatives that can answer specific questions and provide important information about the programs and services that Nassau County has to offer.” said County Executive Mangano. “With more than 70,000 senior citizens living in Nassau County, it is important that we bring government to them so they can better understand all the services available in their Golden Years.”

The celebration includes lunch along with coffee, cake, and other refreshments. Entertainment is provided by the Moonlight Serenaders and all attendees will have an opportunity to participate in bingo. Attendees will receive a “goody bag” full of information related to celebrating the “Golden Years,” along with a free photo identification card.

The remaining 2012 Senior Birthday Celebrations are scheduled for June 27th, July 24th, August 14th, September 19th, October 24th, November 14th and December 4th.
