Defendant found guilty of sexually abusing kids
MINEOLA, NY – Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that Joetta Dean was convicted today by a Nassau County jury of three counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony, and one count of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. She faces up to twenty-one years in prison.

I applaud the hard work and dedication my prosecutors exhibited in handling this deeply troubling case.”
The trial lasted nearly four weeks and was in front of Judge Meryl J. Berkowitz in the Nassau County Courthouse. The jury deliberated for less than a day before finding Ms. Dean guilty of all charges.
Ms. Dean is due back in court April 25 in front of Judge Berkowitz.
Assistant District Attorneys Arlene VanLoan and Steven Schwartz handled the case for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Dean was represented by Ronnie Schoenberg.
