Who: Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen M. Rice and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance Commissioner Robert L. Megna.
What: Press conference to announce the results of a joint operation between the District Attorney and the State Tax Department.  With the income tax filing deadline just days away, three men have been arrested for felony tax fraud and another has recently pleaded guilty to tax evasion.  Visuals will include arrest photos of the defendants.

Mineola, NY 11501
When: Thursday, April 10, 2008 -- 2:30 P.M.

The individuals arrested included an attorney, an accountant, a CPA, and a stock broker.  One man is alleged to have forged an IRS letter to a client, another allegedly taught businesses how to underreport sales to avoid tax liability, and the other dodged income tax on $2M in income he earned as an attorney.  The press conference will include the details of these cases and also provide information regarding a stock broker who has pleaded guilty to skipping out on more than $100,000 in taxes.  The defendants are from Merrick, Dix Hills, Staten Island, and Hicksville.
