RICE ISSUES REPORT OF THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE DEATHS OF AGENT JOHN CAPANO AND JAMES MCGOEY
Statement of Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen M. Rice
“My office has completed its investigation into the deaths of ATF Special Agent John Capano and James McGoey. I am grateful to the Nassau County Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the FBI for their assistance throughout this investigation. Special Agent John Capano was an honorable man who died when he bravely intervened to stop a dangerous criminal and my thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and friends as they cope with this tragic loss.”
