DILLON ANNOUNCES:
SENTENCING OF ISLAND PARK WOMAN
Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon announced today that Adriana Ricci, 39, of 9 Beach Walk, Island Park was sentenced yesterday by Acting Nassau County Court Judge Christopher Quinn to a prison sentence of 2-4 years. Ricci was arrested by the DA’s Criminal Frauds Bureau on March 10, 2005. On July 26, 2005, Ricci pled guilty to Grand Larceny in the fourth Degree, a Class E Felony.
According to Dillon, "In September of 2004, Adrianna Ricci falsely represented herself as a financial consultant with Ameritrade International Banking. Ricci received approximately $17,000 in limousine services from an Oceanside Limousine Company for which she did not pay. Ricci had arranged with the company to open an account on behalf of Ameritrade. Between September 24, 2004 and October 9, 2004, Ricci requested car service for at least twenty separate trips to and from New York City, the airport, Philadelphia and her home in Island Park."
"In addition, Ricci received over $15,000 from two individuals by claiming that the funds would be used for the purchase of stock," said Dillon. "Ricci received $12,500 and $2,500 and claimed returns of $594,000 and $255,000, respectively. In both instances, Ricci took the money, never purchased the stock and never made payments to either of the victims."
