DILLON ANNOUNCES:
SENTENCING OF UNIONDALE MAN FOR RAPING HOFSTRA STUDENT IN 2004
Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon announced today that Gregory Williams, 37, of 151 Marvin Avenue, Uniondale was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison by Nassau County Court Judge David Sullivan. Williams pled guilty on July 29, 2005 to all ten Felony charges for raping a female Hofstra Student in June of 2004.
According to Dillon, "On June 21, 2004 a junior undergraduate from Hofstra University was outside her Uniondale apartment looking for a key she had misplaced. The woman was then approached by Gregory Williams who first offered to help the victim and then began to brutally beat her about her face and body . Williams then dragged the victim off to the backyard of a nearby home where he sexually assaulted her. He later brought her to the parking lot of a local school where he again sexually assaulted and raped the victim; holding the victim captive for four hours. Williams was charged a month later after DNA evidence matched him to the crime."
Williams pled guilty to the entire indictment which included, Rape in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, six counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, two counts of Assault in the Second Degree a Class D Felony and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D Felony.
