DILLON ANNOUNCES:
ARREST OF LIFEGUARD FOR SUBMITTING FALSE DOCUMENTS TO NEW YORK STATE
Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon announced today that a Jones Beach Lifeguard James C. Green, Jr., 32, of 114-31 221st Street, Cambria Heights, New York, was arrested for the crime of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a Class E Felony for falsifying his annual employment applications over the last five years.
According to Dillon, "A joint investigation by the my Special Investigations Bureau, the New York State Parks Police Internal Affairs Bureau, and the New York State Office of Inspector General resulted in the arrest of James C. Green, Jr."
"Green intentionally submitted false documents to the State of New York’s Office of Parks at Jones Beach State Park in order to obtain employment as a lifeguard for each of the past five summers," said Dillon. "Green was arrested and processed by my office this morning and will be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead. If convicted he faces a maximum of four years in prison."
"I thank the New York State Park Police and the Office of the State Inspector General for their excellent work in this case, " said Dillon.
The charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
