Who can benefit from Education and Training Services provided through the Health, Health Education & Training Unit?
Staff in Nassau County departments, clients and staff in community-based treatment agencies, students, teachers, parents, and the general public can all benefit from our qualified professional educators and trainers. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and available to provide information on drug and alcohol abuse and many health-related issues.
What kind of Education and Training activities are available to Nassau County residents?
Education and Training Services vary depending on the audience, setting, and topic. For elementary through high school grades, activities may include classroom presentations, school assembly programs, teacher in-service training and knowledge dissemination at PTA meetings. A program series can be arranged on an individual basis at the request of a school district. College level presentations are also available upon request. Training programs can be developed through cooperation with other Health and Human Service Departments and community agencies. Information is shared with the general public through public health fairs, distribution of literature, and in response to special requests.
