Business Development Unit (BDU)
The Business Development Unit (BDU) of the Office of Economic Development seeks to make Nassau County the preferred destination for growing businesses. In his Economic Development Strategic Plan, Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi made promoting “high-tech, high-skilled industries” a strategic imperative for doing business in Nassau County. The BDU matches business needs with a portfolio of product, program and service solutions that businesses are looking for to take care of their expanding needs:
- Empire Zone (EZ) Program offers significant tax incentives and utility reduction benefits to certified businesses located or investing in a designated EZ to encourage economic and community development, business investment and job creation. We are very pleased that Nassau County has been awarded participation in the New York State Empire Zone Program which offers significant incentives to firms locating and expanding in Nassau County. Additional information will be made available as it is developed. Please click here to see a description of the Empire Zone Program. Click here to see a description of the Empire Zone Benefits.
