Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 23 beaches as a precautionary measure, effective today, August 15th.

All 18 Nassau County North Shore Beaches

On the South Shore in Nassau County:

• Island Park Beach
• Merrick Estates Civic Association Beach
• Phillip Healey Beach

Stormwater runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacteria levels that are used to assess bathing water quality.
