Additional Flu Vaccine Available for Nassau County Doctors

The Nassau County Department of Health has announced that 7,000 doses of influenza vaccine will be made available to approximately 100 physicians who responded to a Nassau County Medical Society survey of vaccine needs or who contacted the Department of Health directly. The Nassau County Department of Health received this vaccine from the New York State Department of Health and is making this vaccine available in response to continuing supply problems facing many private physicians.

“We have had hundreds of calls from residents,” said Commissioner of Health David M. Ackman, “who want to be vaccinated, but whose doctors never received their supply of vaccine. This effort will help meet some of their needs.”

Physicians who did not receive the survey and are still in need of vaccine should contact the Nassau County Medical Society at 832-2300 ext. 14.
