Beach Closings

Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 23 beaches as a precautionary measure, effective today, June 28th.

All 18 Nassau County North Shore Beaches*

and

On the South Shore in Nassau County:

Biltmore Beach Club Beach
Hewlett Point Beach
Island Park Beach
Merrick Estates Civic Association Beach
Phillip Healey Beach

Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacteria levels that are used to assess bathing water quality.
