HEALTH OFFICIALS SEEK PARTICIPANTS
FOR
PANDEMIC FLU PLANNING MEETING
Individuals with Special Needs Urged to Participate
Participants are being recruited by the New York State Department of Health for important meetings to be held across the state to obtain public input and direction in planning for response to a pandemic influenza outbreak. Nassau County Department of Health is coordinating a local meeting which is scheduled in Hicksville for Saturday, April 12, 2008, 8:30 A.M.-3:30 P.M.
Specific directions and information on public transportation will be included with the invitation from the New York State Department of Health.
Consumers and/or advocates representing the following groups are encouraged to register:
- Persons who are disabled or who are living with a chronic disease;
- Economically disadvantaged persons;
- Minorities and those for whom English is not a first language;
- Members of Tribal Nations;
- Parents of Special Needs children;
- Persons age 65 and older.
Participants who are chosen by the New York State Department of Health to attend will receive a $50 Visa Gift Card and a first aid kit. A continental breakfast and lunch also will be provided for all participants.
