Beaches Open

21 of 22 open; 1 Remains Temporarily Closed

The Nassau County Department of Health is allowing the following 3 beaches to reopen, effective today, June 13, 2009.

Bar Beach

Creek Club

Laurel Hollow Beach

These beaches had been closed as a precautionary measure due to storm water runoff.

All other beaches on the North and South Shores are open except Crescent Beach in the City of Glen Cove.

As a result of this heavy rain, residents are urged to remove or empty standing water from children’s toys, flower pots, garbage cans or any object that can hold water.  This will help reduce the number of mosquitoes around your home.
