Revocation of Permit

For serious, repeated, or persistent violations of any of the requirements of this part, or for interference with the Nassau County Department of Health, or its representative, in the performance of his or her duties, the permit may be revoked after due notice and an opportunity for hearing has been provided.

SUSPENSION OF PERMIT

Permits may be suspended temporarily by the Nassau County Department of Health, when its representative finds conditions, which in his judgment, constitute a danger to public health.

PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARDS

Any establishment found to have one or more of the following conditions will require closure of the establishment if not corrected while an authorized representative is on the premises.

  1. Food from an unapproved/unknown source or contaminated foods on premises.

  2. Potentially hazardous food not meeting temperature requirements.

  3. Potentially hazardous food that has been served to a consumer is re-served.

  4. Toxic items not properly stored and/or not properly labeled.

  5. Persons with transmissible infections handling food or food utensils.

  6. Water supply inadequate or from an unapproved source.

  7. Sewage disposed of improperly.

  8. Plumbing improper with possibility of backflow.
