Legislator Abrahams Hosts "A Day of Giving"

Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D- Hempstead) will be hosting “A Day of Giving” as well as a Community Information Expo on Thursday September 23, 2010 from 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the NuHealth Center (NUMC Family Health Centers), 380 Nassau Road, Roosevelt N.Y. This event is about giving back to the community and making our communities better, safer, and more knowledgeable. Representatives from county departments, community organizations and outreach agencies will be present at the event. There will be plenty of raffles, prizes and much more.

Some of the invited vendors are:
• LI Cares- Distribute boxes of food and other staples
• NuHealth Family Health Centers- Free blood pressure testing
• UJA- Book bags as raffle prizes
• United Way- Possible raffle prizes
• Link For Life- Bone Marrow Donor Registration
• Veteran’s Administration- Provide info to our vets
• Coalition for the Homeless- Provide service info
• Nassau Suffolk Law Services- Provide service info
• Alpha Phi Alpha Frat- College Tour
• LIMAC- Info & HIV/AIDS Testing
• Department of Social Services
• Health Department
• NYPA- Provide service info & light bulbs
