Legis. Troiano Attends Demonstration of New Voting Machines
Legislator Troiano (D-Westbury) joined the Westbury League of Women Voters for their new voting machine demonstration on September 1, 2010. The Westbury League’s goal is to empower citizens to better mold communities worldwide. The League assisted the community in learning about these new voting machines.
The Nassau County Board of Elections carried out a “hands on” demonstration of how the new optical scan machines, which uses pre-printed paper ballots, as well as the AutoMARK ballot marking device, for people with disabilities and non-English speaking voters. Community residents had the opportunity to test the machines, ask questions and understand how these new voting machines work.
The new equipment will be used during the September 14th Primary Election.
