Corbin and Stahl Eye Center Announce FREE Screening for Diabetic Eye Disease

Raise Awareness during National Diabetic Eye Disease Month in November

Nassau County Deputy Presiding Officer Roger Corbin (D-Westbury), joined by Stahl Eye Center, has announced that in recognition of November being National Diabetic Eye Disease Month the Stahl Eye Center will offer a FREE screening for eye disease for anyone who has diabetes on Thursday, November 3, 2005, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at 450 Endo Boulevard, Garden City. The screenings, for which an appointment is required, will raise awareness and prevent vision loss. Eye disease is the leading cause of new cases of blindness among adults ages 20-74. Although regular eye exams are a proven way to prevent vision loss, surveys show that less than half of people with diabetes get their eyes checked on a regular basis. For more information or to make an appointment, please call 516-832-8000 or for more information please call Deputy Presiding Officer Corbin’s office at 516-571-6202.

WHEN: Thursday, November 3, 2005
