To the Editor,
Last month’s shooting on Sussex Road in Elmont is, unfortunately, just one of the many painful reminders as to why we need more policing in the Fifth Precinct and not less. Closing half of Nassau County’s police precincts is poor governance and does not reduce taxes. Despite securing additional officers and personnel to remain in the current location of the Fifth Precinct, as a community center, securing public safety remains a challenging task. I will remain a stalwart advocate for safer communities and fight to improve the quality of life for members of my district and all Nassau County residents.
