Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell Encourages First Time Home Buyers

to Apply for an $8,000 Tax Credit

Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) encourages first time home buyers who have purchased a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009 to apply for the federal government’s $8,000 tax credit. The tax credit is included in the President’s recent stimulus package.

“The tax credit is welcome news for first time home buyers,” Legislator Scannell said. “Anything that stimulates Long Island’s housing industry and provides home ownership is a great idea. I encourage home buyers to take advantage of this vital incentive.”
