Speak to someone who has been there: call the Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline. Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell today has joined with the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program in their Mother’s Day campaign urging New Yorkers to call to get information and emotional support in coping with breast cancer.
“Mother’s Day is a significant time to let women and their families and friends know that there is help,” says Legis. Scannell. “I encourage anyone who has questions to call Adelphi’s hotline.”
For more information and to locate an accredited mammography facility nearby, call the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program at 800-877-8077. Callers can also get updated information and emotional support from the hotline’s specially trained volunteers, most of whom are women who have had breast cancer.
The hotline, established in 1980, is a project of the Adelphi University School of Social Work on Long Island. All services are free.
