| July 15, 2004 Scannell Says Road Resurfacing Projects are Underway
Mineola, NY - Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) recently announced that essential roadwork to resurface pavement in the 5th legislative district and neighboring roads throughout Nassau County will commence in the near future. "Weathered and damaged roads lead to disastrous, if not fatal, accidents which is why it is important that we always continue to strive to repair roads and make them as safe as possible," said Legislator Scannell. "Keeping the County's infrastructure is an essential part of keeping Nassau moving forward." The roads in the 5th legislative district receiving resurfacing are Merrick Road, from Milburn Avenue to Ocean Avenue, Grand Avenue from Seaman Avenue to Garfield Road in Baldwin, Demott Avenue from North Village to Long Beach Road and Lake view Avenue, from Hempstead Avenue to Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre. The project also consists of the removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement and re-striping. For more information about these projects please call 516-571-6205. |
