Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell (D-5th District) recently announced he is co-sponsoring a safety child car seat check along with the Nassau County Traffic and Safety Department. The safety check will be held on May 31 in Rockville Centre at the parking lot on Sunrise Highway across from the restaurant Jean-Michaels.

"I suggest all parents take advantage of this opportunity to ensure the safety of their children while riding in the car," Legislator Scannell said. "It is surprising how often these safety seats are installed improperly, even with the best of intentions. The safety of our children should never be compromised."
