Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell (D-Baldwin) announces that a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of a major renovation for Millburn Pond will take place on Saturday, September 20 at 11 a.m. at the pond in Baldwin.

Legislator Scannell will be joined by Parks, Recreation and Museums Commissioner Doreen Banks, Milburn Elementary School art contestants and the Freeport High School band.

Over the next six months a $2.7 M renovation project will be undertaken at Milburn Pond.

The project includes:

• Drainage
• Dredging
• The installation of an aeration system to support the aquatic life with the pond ·new sidewalks with the brick -inlay Decorative antique lighting
• Benches.
