Scannell, Sanitary District 2 and South Hempstead Civic Association Make A Big Sweep

Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) joined the Town of Hempstead Sanitary District #2 and the members of the South Hempstead Civic Association for an annual “The Big Sweep” event last week. Originally sponsored by the Beautiful Baldwin Foundation, The Big Sweep brings together Baldwin residents who pitch in to make Grand Avenue and other major roadways sparkle in time for the Memorial Day Parade. Volunteers of all ages gathered early in the morning to help with the cleanup and local businesses donated materials and refreshments. Legislator Scannell is pictured with TOH Councilman Anthony Santino; Sanitation District 2 Commissioner Leroy Roberts and all the volunteers and personnel who made The Big Sweep a success.
