Toback captures 58% of vote in Legislative Race

Mineola, NY - Running for his third legislative term, Nassau County's Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer Jeffrey Toback (D-Oceanside) captured a decided victory in Nassau County's 7th Legislative District on Tuesday, November 4, reflecting a broad base of support and popularity from his south shore communities.

"I am deeply honored and humbled by the ongoing support of my constituents. Their trust in me and my ability to help Nassau County turn the corner toward financial stability is vitally important to my individual goals and the greater goals of the administration and Democratic majority. I am confident that we will continue to make strides toward fiscal solvency and that residents will again be proud to be a part of this great county," said Legislator Toback.

Legislator Toback, topped his Republican opponent, Mara Jacobowitz, by a vote of 6,094 to 4,393. "I believe the numbers illustrate a clear mandate from the people that they like what we have been doing and that they want us to continue. They understand the necessity of doing what needed to be done to get the county back on the right track. Nassau County residents can again hold their heads up high. I will continue to ensure we never take a step back to the way things were. We have come too far," said Legislator Toback.

The win ensures the Democratic majority a 10-9 edge in the legislature and promises continuity of County Executive Thomas Suozzi's goal of restoring fiscal integrity to Nassau County government.
