| September 25, 2002 Toback and Nassau Dems call for investigative hearing on County Clerk's Office
Mineola, NY - Nassau County Legislator and Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer Jeffrey Toback (D-7th District) today called for a hearing before the Governmental Affairs Committee to inquire into the County Clerk's reported refusal to provide access to vital public information to several county departments. Affected by the cutoff of information are such departments as the Assessment Department, the Public Works Department and Consumer Affairs. "These departments must have access to this data in order to efficiently conduct County business," Toback said. "I believe that an investigative hearing into this matter may help expedite identifying the problem and finding a solution." The hearing will be on Tuesday, October 1 at 3 P.M. in the Ralph Caso Executive and Legislative Building, Fifth floor in Mineola. |
