Legislator Judi Bosworth Presents County Honors to Great Neck Senior Center's Women of the Year

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) attended the Great Neck Senior Center’s 2010 Women of the Year Awards ceremony. Gloria Roberts, Helen Weinberg and Parvaneh Khodadadian, this year’s honorees, were chosen for their outstanding commitment to the senior citizens of Great Neck.

Legislator Bosworth said, “I take great pleasure in celebrating the achievements and community spirit of each honoree. They have given their time and talent to the seniors who enjoy the programs and fellowship at the Great Neck Senior Center. The Great Neck Senior Center is a home away from home for so many of our seniors. The warm, loving and educational environment that exists there doesn’t just happen. It is a result of the hard work of those who work there and the many who volunteer their time. What an honor it was for me to recognize these three women who have dedicated so much of their time to add to the quality of life that makes the Great Neck Senior Center the extraordinary place it is.”

During the awards ceremony, Legislator Bosworth presented each Woman of the Year with County honors. Legislator Bosworth recognized Ms. Khodadadian for introducing many new Persian participants to enjoy the countless services of the Great Neck Senior Center; Ms. Roberts for her countless contributions to the Center as a front desk volunteer receptionist and dedicated work on boutique sales; and Ms. Weinberg for being a key member of the Great Neck Senior Center Board and the New Options Board, for chairing the annual Gala, and for her energetic leadership. Legislator Bosworth congratulated each honoree for her commitment and dedication to making a difference in the Great Neck community.
