Legislator Bosworth Addresses Great Neck Seniors

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) was invited to speak at the Great Neck Senior Center on July 19th about the upcoming August 1 referendum on the $400 million bond issue to build the Nassau Coliseum arena. While the details of the lease agreement with Arenaco, the corporation established to be the lessor of the Coliseum, are not final and will not be final before the vote, what is known is that the $400 million bond issue will result in a 3 1/2 to 4% property tax increase for the taxpayers of Nassau County. Janet DeWinter introduced Legislator Bosworth and also presented information to the group. A lively discussion on the merits of the referendum and other developments in Nassau County ensued.
