Legislator Bosworth Attends
Great Neck Kiwanis Charter Ceremony
On Sunday, January 30, 2011, Leg. Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) attended the ceremony at Café Rustica celebrating the start of a Kiwanis chapter in Great Neck, the newly-formed Kiwanis Club of Great Neck Peninsula. Kiwanis International New York District Governor Michael W. Malark conducted the event at which Joan Lazaunik was installed as the charter president, Jeigh Duran was installed as president-elect, Rosita George Williams was installed as secretary and Shalom Cohen was installed as communications chairperson. Leg. Bosworth was on hand to present a citation as well as to become the newest member of the club during the event. Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the world. According to the organization, “Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis International club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Kiwanis members stage nearly 150,000 service projects, devote more than 6 million hours of service and raise nearly US$107 million every year for communities, families and projects.” Congratulations to all new members, officers and their families!
