Legislator Bosworth Congratulates Manhasset Eagle Scouts
Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) attended the Court of Honor held recently for three young men who completed the requirements to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Eagle Scout John King designed a landscape/erosion control project and led other Scouts in building it on a steep slope at Plandome Village beach; Chris Johnston led other Scouts in building a xeriscape garden at the LI Science museum using native plants requiring less watering, thus making an effort to encourage water conservation; and John Prufeta led Scouts and other volunteers in clearing and planting a rock garden at St. Ignatius Retreat House, including a bench and new shrubbery for use by retreatants as a place of meditation.
On behalf of the Nassau County Legislature, Legislator Bosworth presented each young man with a citation and commended them for their dedication and commitment to the tenets of the Boy Scouts of American program.
